05 Is It Safe to Drive by Self an Alto from Delhi to Yamunotri, Gangotri?

You can drive your own car up to Rishikesh, and then take a local driver from Rishikesh onwards — local drivers are easily available there. The reason is that local drivers know the mountain roads well, so it is safer. Also, while someone else drives you can fully enjoy the scenic sightseeing along the route.
